SecuShift is an early-stage technology company developing infrastructure for secure, authorized, and verifiable interactions across independent digital systems.
We are seeking a Founding Technical Lead — Distributed Systems & Security to work closely with the founder in building SecuShift's core technology and engineering organization.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role with significant influence over system architecture, product development, security, technical recruiting, and the evolution of the company's technology platform.
What you'll lead
You will lead the architecture and development of a secure, scalable platform operating across organizational and system boundaries. Responsibilities will include:
- Distributed-systems architecture
- Backend and platform engineering
- Security and privacy
- Enterprise integrations
- Prototype development and technical validation
- The transition from early R&D to production systems
As an early technical leader, you will also help establish engineering practices, evaluate technology choices, recruit future technical team members, and work with the founder to translate complex institutional requirements into scalable technology.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a strong hands-on engineer and technical leader with substantial experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Distributed systems and backend/platform architecture
- Security and privacy engineering
- Fault-tolerant and highly reliable systems
- Event-driven or asynchronous architectures
- Enterprise integrations and APIs
- Cloud infrastructure and scalable systems
- Identity, authorization, or security-sensitive applications
The ideal candidate combines strong computer-science fundamentals with practical experience building and operating complex enterprise systems.
Prior startup or founding-team experience is valuable but not required. Experience working in regulated, security-sensitive, or high-assurance environments is a plus.

SecuShift was founded by Naray Viswanathan, PhD, a technology entrepreneur with more than 20 years of enterprise software experience. He previously founded and led Hirezon, an enterprise SaaS company serving more than 100 higher-education customers, through its acquisition by Embrace Software.
SecuShift is developing proprietary technology and has filed U.S. provisional patent applications related to its work.

The role is intended for someone who wants to do more than implement an existing product specification. You will help turn an ambitious technical vision into a defensible enterprise technology platform.
Eligibility & compensation
This role may involve U.S. federally funded R&D. Candidates must be legally authorized to work for SecuShift in the United States and able to perform project work in the United States.
Compensation, equity, employment structure, and title will be determined based on experience, role, and level of commitment.
